I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Language and Literature from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Masters in Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Jaén, Spain. Additionally, I hold two Spanish Language Teacher’s certificates from the Instituto Cervantes and International House México. I also won the contest of Difusión in 2017 with the video Pregúntale a un mexicano (Ask a Mexican)

Experience

I am a native Spanish speaker and have been teaching Spanish as a foreign language to adults for almost 4 years. I previously taught in a school for 3 years. My teaching method is based on the principles of cognitive grammar. Cognitive grammar is strongly anchored in common sense, which means that we do not need to focus on grammar, and learning is by communication. My lessons are varied and interesting so that learning and conversing in Spanish is fun for my students. Additionally my classes are customised to a student’s individual needs.

I'm Evelyn Moreno. I live in Coyoacán, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Mexico City which is also the birthplace of Frida Kahlo. I love living in Coyoacán because it is an interesting part of the city with many places to eat, drink and relax. I enjoy reading literature and novels, drawing, cooking and discovering different parts of Mexico with my husband and friends. I enjoy my work as a Spanish teacher as it has brought me in contact with people from different cultures and with different points of view. I really enjoy the diversity and multi-culturalism that comes with my job and the opportunity it has given me to make new friends, and to learn from others. I am friendly, reliable and flexible, qualities which I believe have helped me get to know my students and their needs very well.
